My Experience:
La Flora Organics Castor Oil comes in a 200 ml white colored plastic bottle with a screw cap and there is a nozzle attached to the bottle which helps to control the amount of oil to dispense. The packaging is absolutely travel-friendly. No scope for wastage.
It has no artificial perfumes and colorants. Once you apply the oil you immediately notice the smell.  The fragrance is quite strong and sometimes it makes me unpleasant.

The Application:
I've used it both for my hair and skin. Castor oil is also high in omega 9 fatty acids, which are nourishing to the hair and the follicle, as well as the surrounding skin.  However, more I like to use it on my dry hair. I have drier, little wavy medium length hair that tends to tangle very easily. Castor oil is very thick in consistency and a little bit goes a long way. I apply this oil with a mix of extra-virgin olive oil or organic cold pressed coconut oil. When I felt that my hair ends were too dry then I applied 3 to 4 drops of castor oil to keep my hair moisturized, and it gives it a really healthy shine too.
How I apply the oil for Hair:
 – I take about 2 tablespoons of coconut oil in a bowl and heat it for about 15 seconds. After that mix 1/2 tablespoons of castor oil. The amount of oil required depends on the length of your hair.
– Then dip my fingers into the oil and then massage my scalp.
– Once I've evenly applied and massaged the oil all over my scalp, then I apply the oil to the rest of my hair. I pay more attention to the roots and my dry ends.
– Then wrap a hot towel around my head and leave it on for about 30-45 minutes. Sometimes I don’t follow this step and just leave the oil on for about 1-2 hours before washing my hair. Instead of a hot towel, even a shower cap will work to help keep the heat in.
– I usually have to wash my hair with shampoo twice to get all the oil off; after which I only apply conditioner to the ends of my hair. You will notice that your hair doesn't really need much conditioner after a good hot olive oil massage.
–Let my hair dry naturally.

Castor oil is high in ricinoleic acid. This can help keep any fungus or bacteria from inhibiting hair growth.  Since the oil is also very thick, it may help to prevent hair loss simply by helping to coat the hair and protect it from falling out.
How I apply the oil for Skin

This oil has worked wonders on my dry skin, especially in winter. I have tried several times this on my face along with some other oils. La Flora Organics Castor Oil is now one of the main oil of my OCM. It helping to keep my skin looking healthy and nourished.

I also use it for my eyebrows and edges.

The Results:
It keeps my hair shiny and soft. This definitely stops hair breakage and dandruff of the scalp.  I used to use coconut oil but I think this works better for my hair type.  It also gives my skin a really smooth feel and makes it well hydrated. My skin as well is really soft & shiny but no oily at all.
It is thick so be careful with how much you put.

Pros:

  • Makes hair soft and shiny
  • Removes Dandruff
  • Conditions hair very well
  • Makes skin softer and radiant
  • Makes skin hydrated
  • All-in-one skin and hair care oil
  • 100% Certified Organic
  • Handmade, Vegan, Chemical and Cruelty-Free
  • No scalp and skin irritation
  • This is very affordable
Cons:
This castor oil is very thick so the oil does not dispense easily through the nozzle attached to the bottle.

Overall, La Flora Organics Castor Oil is a fantastic oil for the face, body, eyebrows, nails and  hair no matter your race, age, skin or hair type.  This is one of the best Castor Oil I have ever used. 100% organic, cold press, unrefined, handmade paper soap pack free castor oil definitely does wonders for the skin and hair. It is worth every single penny. I highly recommend this product.

Have any of you tried castor oil or in particular the La Flora Organics brand for your hair or skin? Or do you use any other oil on your hair and skin? I’d like to know what your ritual, anything differently?
